The estate

A modern Mediterranean on the El Encanto ridge, wrapped in cypress and anchored by a 60-foot infinity edge that dissolves into the Pacific. Completed in 2023 by Ferrugio & Lane.

Casa Mirador sits at the crown of the El Encanto ridge, reached by a quarter-mile drive lined with Italian cypress and a gate that sits well back from the road. Ferrugio & Lane designed the house around a single axis: from the front door, the eye runs through the gallery, across the pool, and out to the Channel Islands.

The main residence is limestone and white oak, with steel-framed glass that pockets fully into the walls of the great room and the kitchen. The primary suite occupies its own wing with a private terrace, two dressing rooms, and a stone soaking tub set against the ocean view. A two-bedroom guest house and a separate staff apartment sit below the main terrace.

The 60-foot infinity edge is heated year-round and lit from below at dusk. The grounds include a citrus orchard, a bocce lawn, and a motor court for eight cars. Neighbors are distant and screened; from the terrace, the only visible structures are on the far side of the canyon.
