The estate
A quiet house on the Butterfly Beach bluffs, framed by Monterey pines and sloping to the sand. A vaulted cellar holds 2,400 bottles; the primary suite opens directly to the ocean.
Bluff House is a low, shingled 1964 house that was taken back to its frame and renovated in 2021. It sits on nearly two acres of lawn running down to the edge of the Butterfly Beach bluffs, framed by a stand of mature Monterey pines.
The rooms are deliberately modest in number and generous in size: a living room with a stone hearth, a kitchen and breakfast room open to the lawn, and a primary suite whose doors open straight to the ocean. Below the house, a brick-vaulted cellar holds 2,400 bottles at a constant 55°F, with a tasting table for ten.
A path through the pines leads to a private stair down the bluff. Coast Village Road and the Biltmore are a five-minute walk; from the lawn, neither is visible or audible.
